The Colorado Wolf & Wildlife Center operates as a non-profit organization center and it is certified by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums. The organization values educating the public about the importance of coyotes, wolves, and foxes to the ecosystem. In addition to that, the center also prioritizes educating the citizens about the paramount importance of conserving and preserving the forests, water, and land that support wildlife, flora, and fauna. It truly believes in sustainable development. The organization prides itself on practicing what it preaches. The Colorado Wolf & Wildlife Center practices conservation in the sanctuary too by using biodegradable trash bags, environmentally-friendly ink, partaking in recycling programs etc. Fortunately, the Colorado Wolf & Wildlife Center also provides many walking tours with the organization´s experienced and knowledgeable guides. In fact, currently, the center provides 4 different types of tours. The standard tour is an hour long and is a guided educational tour. During the tour, you get the opportunity to see foxes, coyote, and wolves. You are provided with information about their history, biology and the current issues they face. The interactive alpha tour, as its name implies, is a tour that allows you to interact and get up close and personal with the wolves. A wolf handler and a staff photographer will guide you throughout the tour, ensuring that you are safe and that your pictures are taken when you confront the wolves. On the downside, you must be 18 years or older to be eligible for this tour.
There is also a feeding tour where you can watch your guides feed the hungry wolves, foxes, and coyotes. This tour is also an educational tour. The fox photo tour gives you access to the center´s red fox family, enabling you to have your pictures snapped with the red fox. Hence, if you are looking to experience an unforgettable event with the family, you should definitely pay a visit to the Colorado Wolf & Wildlife Center. A typical visit to the center usually lasts approximately 90 minutes. However, if you get hungry during the time, you can breathe a sigh of relief as the center does offer snacks such as chips, nutria-grain bars, fruits and cookies for sale. You can also purchase beverages such as water, tea, coffee, and hot cocoa. It is also necessary for you to bear in mind that the educational tour provided by the center may not be appropriate for children, especially under the age of five.
